Mcleodganj - Triund - Lahesh Cave - Chamba - Amritsar

This is a trek set in a remote and largely unexplored area of the Himalaya. The Dhaula-Dhar region of Himachal Pradesh is inhabited by the Gadi people, Hindu shepherds who migrate each spring with their flocks from the foothills of the Kangra valley to the rich grazing areas of Lahaul and Himachal Pradesh. As for the 'Valley of the Goddess' we will have ample time to soak up the atmosphere of the Tibetan community at McLeod Ganj and Dharamshala before going the trek. ITINERARY

Day 01:  Arrive New Delhi - Mcleod ganj (10 Hours Drive)
upon arrival at Delhi airport then drive to Mcleod ganj . Arrive at Mcleod ganj around 13:00 Check in Hotel. Free evening . Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Mcleodganj
Leave after early breakfast and driving through small tea gardens, pine forests and passing through small villages of Kangra valley we reach Masroor Rock-cut Temples after two hours. Masroor rock cut temples are 8th century old temples hewed in Indo-Aryan architectural style from a single sand stone rock. These are the only rock temple in north India. From Masroor we drive to see the fort of Kangra, situated near Kangra town.

Visit to Brajeshwari Devi temple in Kangra is also recommended. The small market outside the temple complex is unique and worth visiting. After Kangra we drive to Norbulingka Institute (40 minutes).

Norbulingka is dedicated for preserving traditional Tibetan art and craft. Spend at least one hour visiting various sections of Norbulingka

Day 03: Mcleodganj - Triund (2850 kms/3-4 hrs )
Early breakfast – your trek begins towards Triund passing through Dhramkot. The trail to Triund is generally gentle except last few kms. Dinner & overnight in tents.

Day 04: Triund -  Lahesh Cave (3598 mts) 9 kms/ 3-4 hrs
Post breakfast – This day the trail follows the ridge behind the prayer flags above the. The trail climbs generally through oak and conifer forest and across the open meadows to the encampment at Laka Got. The last 200 – 300 mts is tiring to Lahesh Cave. Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 05: Lahesh Cave - Indrahar Pass (4375 mts) – Chatru Parao (12 kms/6 -7 hrs)
Early morning breakfast. Commence uphill trek with packed lunch. At the higher elevations there is a a steep 300 – 400 m ascent towards the crest of the Dhaula Dhar, before a 1 Km traverse just below the ridge to the Indrahar Pass. From the pass one can view Pir Panjal Range in the north and Mani Mahesh Kailash (5656 M) peak in the east. Descend from the pass to Chatru Parao. Dinner & overnight in tents.

Day 06: Chatru Parao - Kuarsi (2747 mts) 15 kms/ 6 - 7 hrs
Start trek with packed lunch, the trail follows the true left of the valley for the first few kms. Later the trek crosses the valley on a permanent snow bridge and ascends steeply to an open meadow. Continue down the true right of the valley and after crossing a series of meadows finally descends to Kurasi. Dinner & overnight in tents.

Day 07: Kuarsi - Machetar (5886 ft) - Chamba  (16 kms/ 5 - 6 hrs) Traveling 80 kms/3 – 4 hrs
Post breakfast, continue trek downhill with packed lunch. Today’s trek continues into the valley and from the top mountain views of the whole region can be seen. Descend along the Barley fields to hit the road head to Machetar. From Machetar drive towards Chamba. Dinner & overnight stay in hotel.

Day 08: Chamba - Amritsar (235 km )
We have a free morning to further explore this magical town – why not visit the Hindu Temples  or take a visit to one of the majestic monasteries. Arrive at Amritsar free time at Amritsar. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09:  Amritsar Singh seen
In the morning after breakfast start sightseeing of Amritsar city. Visit Golden Temple-also called as Harmandir Sahib, Jalianwala Bagh and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum situated in the heart of Ram Bagh and in the evening visit the Wagah border to see the famous flag retreat ceremony. Later return back to the hotel for overnight stay at Amritsar Hotel.

Day 10:  Amritsar - Delhi (AC TRAIN)
In the morning transfer to Amritsar railway station to board the AC train to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to Hotel. Overnight  Hotel

Day 11: Delhi
In the morning transfer to airport to board for flight to onward destination

Package Cost: Based on the above sketch itinerary our cost is as follows
